Making grants is a key part of our mission, providing the focus for all our other activities. The map shows where we work around the world. Since 2003, we've made 77 grants totaling $477,603 to grant partners around the world. Focus areas change from year to year and have included areas such as water access and quality, education, HIV/AIDS, and cross-border migration issues.
Special interest groups, called pods, research issues
in each region and choose the focus area and grant criteria. Later, they
review proposals and recommend grant awards to the membership. We look
for projects and organizations that are small enough for our dollars
to make a difference and for our members to feel personally involved.
We owe the success of our grants program to the dedication of our partners--
grassroots organizations inside the target countries, who understand
the culture and capabilities of their community. We’re proud to support
the work of these organizations as they develop sustainable solutions
to accomplish their goals. Read about our
